Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair park equipment and rides, following D1.1 steel and structural codes.
- Assist in ride and equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Review prints and documents for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform non-destructive testing, scheduling, and contract oversight.
- Notify supervisor of daily performance, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
- Preventative maintenance on equipment, including greasing, oiling, and fueling.
- Inspect ride tracks and report maintenance needs and repairs.
- Lubricate rides, lock out before repairing, and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Tighten and loosen structure bolts, grind, and drill metal.
- Operate tools, including band saws, drills, grinders, and hammers.
- Follow fall protection practices and ladder safety.
- Work with and direct welding sub-contractors.
- Communicate with guests, staff, vendors, contractors, and inspectors.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned areas, reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent, vocational training in welding/ironworking preferred.
- At least two to four years of welding experience.
- 6G welding certification preferred, sheet metal work experience a plus.
- Experience with fabrication of trusses, brackets, and metal fixtures.
- Knowledge of metal cutting, bending, grinding equipment, and reading blueprints.
- GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) experience, oxy-fuel welding/cutting experience a plus.
- Ability to operate vehicles, overhead cranes, forklifts, welding equipment, and other shop equipment.
- Good judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
