Job Title: Instructional Assistant - Behavioral Intervention
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to supporting students with behavioral challenges. As an Instructional Assistant - Behavioral Intervention, you will work closely with instructional staff to provide individualized support to students, helping them to achieve their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students in the classroom and in small group settings, using strategies such as positive reinforcement, redirection, and crisis intervention.
- Assist instructional staff in preparing and presenting instructional materials, including lesson plans and visual aids.
- Monitor student behavior and maintain accurate records of student progress, using data to inform instruction and make adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with instructional staff to develop and implement behavioral plans, using evidence-based practices such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience working with children in an organized setting, preferably in an educational or therapeutic environment.
- Experience working with students with autism and/or experience in ABA highly desirable.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 40 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
