The Role
As Assistant General Counsel, you will handle complex legal matters and serve as a key advisor in areas including contract law, labor and employment, construction, real estate, and administrative law. This position requires conducting litigation, drafting and overseeing legal documents, and offering counsel to the General Counsel and other department staff.
SMART is looking for :
- A solution-oriented, highly organized attorney with experience in transit districts or similar public sectors.
- Skilled in civil litigation with a profound understanding of state and federal court procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy.
