Job Description And Duties
Are you someone who is detail oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment? If so, the State Controller's Office, Disbursements Bureau, is seeking a highly motivated Program Technician II to join our Warrants Distribution Unit!
Under general supervision provided by the Office Services Supervisor II, the Program Technician II will independently provide sensitive and detailed information to employees, state agencies, public, or other public jurisdictions and have a working knowledge of all duties performed in the Warrant Distribution Unit. This position will be required to monitor the public counter and reception desk, and act as a back-up to the couriers, which will require lifting and moving 50 lbs. boxes without assistance.

Job Description And Duties

Duties Performed:

- Organize and disburse payroll, payroll garnishments, and related sensitive and confidential documents/reports to state agencies and campuses accurately and on schedule. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely distribution of state agency flyer's and inserts, managing to the payroll release schedule deadlines.
- Release daily and master payroll and other program warrants and direct deposit advices, special handling claim payments, sensitive documents and reports, bank pickups, business month warrants, and listings over a public counter to agency messengers and private courier services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing all work in accordance with established guidelines.
- Communicate with the public, state agencies and university campuses, vendors, management and staff in other SCO divisions to resolve warrant distribution problems.
- Receive, distribute, direct, research, and resolve deliveries the arrive at the public counter.
- Perform a timely and accurate sort of incoming USPS, inter-departmental, divisional, and messenger mail received from vendors and agency couriers at the public counter.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing all work in accordance with established guidelines.
- Answer the General Disbursements telephone lines and inquiries directed to the email box related to General Disbursements’ concerns.
- Utilize 3rd party vendor accounts to mail critical warrants and documents overnight.
- Provide sensitive and detailed program information and direction to the public, employees, and state agencies related to the status of warrants and concerning the process, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations governing the re-issuance of warrants.
