The Maintenance Aide works under the supervision of the Sector Maintenance Supervisor and is directed on the job by permanent and senior maintenance lead staff.The Maintenance Aide reporting location is Castle Crags State Park located at 20022 Castle Creek Rd, Castella CA 96017.
The normal work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, up to five days per week including weekends, holidays and during special events; assigned days off may vary from month to month. This postion is required to wear a uniform, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform.
The Maintenance Aide will perform various housekeeping tasks to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained. This position performs tasks of cleaning restrooms, restocking restroom supplies, litter pickup, grounds work and other manual labor tasks. This position requires operating gators, trucks and small equipment to clean and maintain the park facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Aide may assist permanent park personnel with more technical and / or difficult tasks and special projects.
This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
