What are the responsibilities and job description for the State Park Equipment Operator - Sierra District position at California State Parks and Recreation?
The reporting location for this position is Sugar Pine Point State Park in Tahoma, CA. This position will work under the general direction of Park Maintenance Chief I. The work schedule will be Tuesday to Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
The State Park Equipment Operator assists with vegetation management projects including log skidding, fuel reduction, prescribed fire, and tree removal; makes repairs to roads throughout the District, maintaining them in a safe and functional condition. Operates and maintains all equipment needed to accomplish facility maintenance projects, which will include large loaders, excavators, graders, rollers, back hoes, and snow removal equipment. Assist other Maintenance and Resource staff with various projects and will operate and transport equipment to accomplish the task. Operate and transport equipment in structural and wild land firefighting/flood control.
This position requires a valid Class A driver’s license.
This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period
