What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool - Nurse Practitioner position at California State University-Dominguez Hills?
This is a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), temporary Nurse Practitioner position in the Student Health Center, part of the Student Health and Psychological Services unit within the Student Affairs division. Work schedule to be arranged according to current needs.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for Nurse Practitioner include current California RN license, current California or ANA Nurse Practitioner Certification, current CPR certification, required continuing education units for California license.
Three years of progressively responsible experience as a registered nurse which has demonstrated that the applicant can adequately perform the duties shown above.
Graduation from a four-year college or university in nursing may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Abilities : Knowledge, sensitivity and ability to work with students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the campus community. Possession of clinical skills necessary to assess and treat common illnesses and injuries. Demonstrated ability to assume ongoing care for a patient from discovery to recovery. Knowledge of normal and abnormal variations when determining a diagnosis. Willingness to consult with and / or refer patients to physician as indicated. Possession of broadly adaptable skills to accommodate the many variable situations and projects related to the physical and emotional health of students.
Preferred qualifications : Current possession of a CA Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number and 1 year of experience in an outpatient facility, college health or ER experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.

Coordinate on-site implementation of SB 24 legally mandated medical abortion services.
