Hourly-intermittent temporary position available on or after February 17, 2025 and ending on or before June 30, 2025 in Teacher Diversity. Appointment will be made for one year from date of hire with the possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.
This position is funded by the Sierra K-16 Grant awarded to the College of Education, Kinesiology, and Social Work (COEKSW). The program aims to provide tutoring support for K-12 students in partnership with Columbia College and schools located in Tuolumne County. The student employees must be enrolled Columbia College students.
Job Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with tutoring sessions conducted during and/or after school at designated elementary, middle, and high schools in Tuolumne County.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance to students, helping them interpret course content and improve academic performance.
- Attend mandatory tutor training sessions and submit monthly tutoring logs.
- Maintain open communication with the program coordinator and collaborate with school site personnel, including teachers and program coordinators, to address students' tutorial needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled student at Columbia College, with a 2.75 GPA
Experience: Experience working with children in academic or non academic settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates previous tutoring, mentoring and/or experience interacting with students in K-12 grades.
- Demonstrates good understanding of mathematics concepts.
- Demonstrates strong communication and social skills.
Special Conditions
- Must provide current TB screening and clearance. (Free Screening is available at the CSU Stanislaus Student Health Center.)
- Ability to travel to off campus locations.
- Must be available to tutor on-site during K-12 school hours.
License or Certifications
- Valid California Driver's License

Salary Range
Anticipated salary will be $16.50 per hour.
