Position Overview: The Girls Team Director is responsible for leading and managing the competitive girls gymnastics team at California Strong Athletics. This position demands a high level of expertise in coaching advanced gymnastics, developing competitive routines, and preparing athletes for competitions. The Director will ensure that the program not only enhances athletic skills but also fosters teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership:
- Design, implement, and oversee the training program for the girls competitive team.
- Develop training plans that include technique enhancement, routine construction, and mental conditioning.
- Prepare gymnasts for local, state, and regional competitions, ensuring they meet all required standards.
- Coaching and Mentoring:
- Provide hands-on coaching and technical instruction to gymnasts at various levels of ability.
- Mentor coaches within the team program, ensuring high-quality training and consistent coaching methodologies.
- Foster a supportive and motivating environment that encourages athlete growth and performance.
- Team Management:
- Manage team selection, workout groups, and progression from developmental to elite levels.
- Ensure all gymnasts receive appropriate feedback and developmental support.
- Handle administrative tasks related to team management including scheduling, travel arrangements, and competition entries.
- Performance Evaluation:
- Conduct regular performance reviews of athletes and staff to ensure alignment with program goals.
- Utilize video analysis and other modern coaching tools to provide detailed feedback and technique correction.
- Set clear performance goals and track athlete progress against these metrics.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce all gym safety protocols and ensure compliance with USAG regulations.
- Maintain a safe training environment by regularly reviewing equipment and facilities.
- Educate athletes and coaches on injury prevention and proper gymnastics techniques.
- Parent and Community Relations:
- Maintain open and effective communication with gymnasts' families, providing regular updates on training progress and competitive results.
- Engage with the gymnastics community to enhance the program’s profile and establish strong relationships.
- Represent California Strong Athletics at gymnastics events and within various gymnastics communities.
- Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest gymnastics techniques, coaching methodologies, and industry standards.
- Attend workshops, clinics, and courses to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
- Share knowledge and insights with coaching staff to elevate the overall quality of the program.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a competitive gymnastics coach with a track record of developing successful gymnasts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of USAG rules and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Passionate about gymnastics and youth development.
Preferred:
- Experience coaching at state or national level competitions.
- USAG Professional Membership and appropriate certifications.
Schedule and Availability:
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends to accommodate training and competition schedules

Pay: $23.00 - $33.00 per hour
