California Strong Athletics (CSA) is a premier gymnastics studio dedicated to empowering athletes through high-quality instruction, a safe environment, and a community-focused approach. Serving children ages 2.5-12 years and beyond, we offer Kindergym, recreational gymnastics, tumbling, competitive programs, and even adult classes. CSA is proud to have state-of-the-art facilities, a highly trained coaching staff, and a commitment to excellence. We’re looking for a passionate and organized Facility Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our daily operations while ensuring an outstanding experience for athletes, families, and staff.
Position Overview:
The Facility Operations Manager will lead the operational, administrative, and logistical functions of the CSA gymnastics studio. They will be responsible for facility safety and maintenance, staff management, customer service, program support, and driving membership growth. This role requires both operational expertise and hands-on experience in coaching gymnastics, as well as the ability to foster positive relationships with customers and increase sign-ups through effective sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facility Management
- Ensure all gymnastics equipment (e.g., Beam, Pit, Bars, Tumble Trak, etc.) is in top condition and compliant with USAGYM standards.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships for maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for athletes and visitors.
- Oversee inventory and procurement of supplies for daily operations and events.
2. Administrative Operations
- Manage class schedules, event planning, and team practice times (e.g., competitive team practices, open gyms, and special events).
- Utilize CSA’s customer management software to track registrations, billing, and attendance.
- Administer payroll, track employee hours, and maintain accurate records.
- Implement and optimize operational policies to improve efficiency and member satisfaction.
3. Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and support CSA staff, including front desk personnel, assistant managers, and maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to align on schedules, lesson plans, and operational needs.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address staff concerns promptly.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that aligns with CSA’s values.
4. Customer Service and Sales
- Serve as the primary contact for member inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Drive customer sign-ups through personalized outreach, facility tours, and promotions.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase enrollment across all programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CSA families to enhance member retention.
5. Coaching Support
- Assist in coaching gymnastics programs as needed, including recreational, tumbling, or competitive levels.
- Provide guidance to coaching staff to ensure alignment with CSA’s training standards.
- Act as a substitute coach when required to ensure smooth operations.
6. Events and Special Programs
- Organize and oversee CSA’s events, such as open gyms, Parents’ Night Out, summer camps, and annual special events like the Haunted House.
- Coordinate event logistics, including staffing, equipment setup, and marketing efforts.
- Support competitive team travel planning, ensuring all details are handled professionally.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of operations management, preferably in a gymnastics or sports facility.
- Proven experience in coaching gymnastics at recreational or competitive levels.
- Strong track record in customer service, sales, and driving program enrollment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with management software (e.g., iClassPro, Jackrabbit).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of gymnastics safety protocols, USAGYM compliance, and equipment maintenance (preferred).
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Full-time, onsite position at California Strong Athletics in California.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends to support peak hours, events, and competitive team schedules.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $70,000 annual base salary.
- Up to $10,000 in annual performance-based bonuses tied to program retention and growth. $5000 of that will be at sign-on for the right fit
