The Consumer Data Specialist is responsible for reviewing, correcting, and processing consumer data in electronic format within the Circulation system, which manages customer, financial and distribution information. Duties include data entry, updating, reviewing, researching, verifying, and retrieving data across various systems to ensure accuracy and maintain confidentiality. Makes outbound calls to customers to verify billing, delivery details, and address accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Review and process consumer information entered into financial and distribution systems, identifying and addressing data discrepancies by following standard procedures.
Conduct outbound calls to consumers as needed to verify information, such as address accuracy, to ensure correct billing statements and to meet the customer and company needs.
Handle sensitive or unique consumer accounts that require special attention and care by maintaining confidentiality to uphold internal and external customer trust and protect company operations.
Support team goals by achieving assigned standards to help meet company objectives.
Sort mail and record appropriately as well as distribute to other departments as needed
Demonstrate an understanding of PCI compliance standards and take necessary actions to ensure ongoing compliance.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of experience in data entry, quality assurance, or a related role
Experience in customer data management, CRM systems, or database handling is a plus
Skills & Competencies: Strong data processing skills – typing skills of 50 wpm and able to use a calculator by touch
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail, ensuring high data quality and consistency.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data for inconsistencies and errors, and take corrective actions.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with data management software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, CRM systems).
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues within data sets and find solutions or escalate as needed.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey issues and solutions clearly.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time to meet data quality objectives and deadlines.
