What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at California Truck Centers?
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Controller to join our Finance Lending Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing regular account reconciliations, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate for this role has prior experience with accounting software, strong organizational skills, and management experience.
A day in the life may include:
· Prepares monthly statements by collecting data, analyzing and investigating variances, summarizing data, information, and trends while also ensuring the financial close process and procedures for month, quarter, and year-end close activities.
· Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data and provides financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, developing recommendations.
· Ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and assemble data for external and internal audit processes.
· Provide management with an executive summary of financial results, including an analysis of historical trends to by preparing special reports by studying variances, preparing budgets, and developing forecasts.
To be successful in the role, you would have:
- · BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- · 5 years of related experience.
- · CPA License is preferred but not required.
