Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Informational Officer, the Multimedia Technology Analyst I (Analyst) provides faculty, staff, and students technical expertise in campus ‘smart spaces’ (classrooms, conference rooms, college rooms, and others) to ensure the tech tools work flawlessly and efficiently. To meet the needs of the instructional environment, the analyst works with the information technology network team to ensure secure connectivity to all ‘smart spaces’, remains current with developments in the field, and ensures consistent customer service delivery.
Essential Function s
75% Multimedia Support
- Perform daily inspections before classes and events held in lecture halls to ensure all technology is functioning as expected. Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and networking problems.
- Conduct orientations and training sessions to build user skills in classroom technologies.
- Schedule, support, and utilize monitoring tools to troubleshoot incidents and enhance the availability of ‘smart spaces’ services.
- Perform equipment refreshes and hardware installations; troubleshoot with a vendor to identify issues and initiate fixes and resolutions.
- Deploy technology hardware and / or software applications via in-person and virtual assistance.
- Work directly with vendors to maintain Audio Video (AV) technologies that support the teaching, learning, and research mission.
- Maintain any required auxiliary equipment pools to supplement and / or replace deployed equipment and technologies.
- Perform testing, inspection, preventive maintenance, and monitoring to ensure established expectations are met.
- Participate in the development and assessment of academic technologies and support learning-based technologies in multiple formats.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to internal use policies, procedures, designs / configurations, and proper usage of equipment.
- Research new products to remain current with market trends and recent technology requirements and provide product recommendations to ensure effective operability and customer satisfaction.
