Job Description:
The Conservation Assistant is responsible for determining customer program eligibility, tracking conservation program activity, and administrative functions of the Conservation Department. The Conservation Assistant reports to the Conservation Manager and is not responsible for supervising other employees. this position will be located in Torrance, CA.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Tracks Cal Water's various conservation programs and makes recommendations for improvements
Prepares written and verbal reports regarding program activity
Assists management with short and long-term departmental and conservation program planning
Researches and creates needed requisitions and change orders, and purchase orders
Processes invoices and receives on Purchase Orders
Reviews customer program applications to determine eligibility
Digitizes and organizes customer applications and other departmental information
Tracks customer program participation and enters information into various databases
Manages and maintains inventory on conservation related supplies and material
Performs reconciliation process with rebate programs
Provides excellent customer service via all communication channels addressing customer requests and inquiries concerning conservation programs
Participates in and supports the Company's Continuous Improvement program and projects
Attends meetings and training as directed by California Water Service
Performs other similar duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
Previous experience in water industry and conservation desirable
Must hold or obtain AWWA Water Use Efficiency Practitioner, Grade 1 Certification within 12 months
Valid California Driver License
Upon hire, must provide proof of COVID vaccination status
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to perform basic mathematic functions to calculate figures and analyze results
Ability to organize work to meet changing deadlines in high-pressure situations
Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or verbal instructions
Exceptional ability to communicate information effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a tactful and persuasive manner
Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to outstanding customer service
Must be proficient in personal computer skills including Microsoft Suite
Prioritizes work and is flexible
Salary Range: $39,900 - $69,400
