BASIC JOB PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Sr. Director, Operations and Director, Human Resources, the Manager of Training is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of training programs across the organization. This includes both role-specific training for key operational functions such as drivers, dispatchers, and call center representatives, as well as HR and professional development training for employees at all levels. The Manager of Training will ensure that all employees receive the necessary education and resources to perform their roles effectively while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Dual reporting to the Sr. Director, Operations and Director, Human Resources
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment with periodic travel to training locations. May require evening and/or weekend work. The position may require long periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting at least 25 lbs.
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
- Develop, implement, and oversee training programs for all operational roles, including drivers, dispatchers, and call center representatives.
- Design and deliver HR and people-focused training, including leadership development, employee engagement, workplace compliance, and professional growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with department leaders to assess training needs and customize programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Create and manage a structured onboarding program for new hires across all departments.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Ensure training materials remain current, relevant, and compliant with company policies and industry regulations.
- Work closely with HR and management teams to ensure training supports company culture, values, and strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners for specialized training as needed.
- Maintain training records and provide regular reporting on training activities, participation, and outcomes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to employees and supervisors to promote a learning-driven environment.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must pass a Criminal Background Screening.
- Must pass government exclusion list at time of hire and monthly thereafter.
- Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in training, instructional design, or employee development, preferably in transportation, healthcare, or customer service industries.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
- Ability to develop engaging training content, including presentations, manuals, and e-learning materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong facilitation and public speaking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
