Job Overview
Callahan Construction is a growing General Contractor in North Pole, Alaska. Our work is focused on federal and commercial vertical construction. We are seeking a motivated and experienced General Foreman to oversee civil construction work. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry. This role requires effective communication with team members, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Some examples of tasks to be performed would be:
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the self-performed civil scope of work, including daily operations, logistics, and ensuring proper site organization; the contract’s approximate value is $10,000 - $500,000.
- Leading and coordinating a 3-5 person crew and subcontractors, assigning tasks, and monitoring their performance.
- Operate and direct in the operation of heavy equipment and related tasks.
- Monitoring project progress against the schedule, identifying potential delays, and taking corrective actions to maintain deadlines.
- Regularly inspect worksites and equipment to identify and address potential hazards, and to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
- Verify all onsite materials are handled and stored properly for use on the project.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, honest.
- 10 years of civil construction experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain military installation access.
- First Aid/CRP/AED certification required - company sponsored if needed
- OSHA 30 certification required - company sponsored if needed
- CESCL certification required - company sponsored if needed
Compensation / Benefits:
- Compensation is based on Davis Bacon wage rates.
