Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Director of Day Services to join our team. This role involves implementing objectives and goals identified in Individual Support Plans, focusing on skill acquisition, development, retention, and maintenance to help consumers achieve maximum self-sufficiency and independence. The Assistant Director ensures services comply with CARF accreditation standards, DMH regulations, and MMAC program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary and administrative teams.
· Supervise Direct Support Professionals and complete performance evaluations.
· Plan and oversee activities based on individual support plans.
· Develop and implement training plans.
· Provide staff coverage and serve as backup to the Director.
· Ensure quality assurance and develop formal curriculum.
· Monitor plan effectiveness and recommend new goals.
· Conduct staff orientation and training.
· Resolve problems and grievances, promote teamwork, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or an associate’s degree with relevant experience.
· Experience: At least one year of experience providing direct care to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
· Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to solve complex problems, and effective communication skills.
· Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License, DMH Abuse and Neglect certification, and ability to obtain Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physical Demands:
· Active throughout the day, requiring various physical activities.
· Must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds and assist individuals weighing over 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
· Exposure to bodily fluids and moderate noise.
· Potential for cuts, scratches, bruises, bites, and volatile situations.
