The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney's office is accepting applications for a full-time Victim Advocate position. The starting salary for this position is dependent on education and experience. The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney's office is located in the Callaway County Justice Center, located at 5 East 2nd Street in Fulton, Missouri. The normal hours of operation are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Scope: This full-time position provides direct services to crime victims in the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The role involves outreach to individuals, liaising with local criminal justice entities, and collaborating with community resource providers to ensure victims receive the support they need.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent experience working with crime victims.
- Preferred experience in case management, victim services, and the criminal justice system.
- A passion for supporting victims, especially those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and crimes involving children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to crime victims, including support and resources, in accordance with statutory requirements RSMo 529.209
- Assist victims in navigating the criminal justice process and advocate for their rights.
- Maintain accurate records of services and communications using case management systems.
- Assist victims with applications for the Missouri Safe at Home Program and provide ongoing support.
- Collaborate with the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services and other local entities to promote victim services.
- Commit to upholding the Professional Code of Ethics for Victim Service Providers and ensuring the rights of victims are honored and protected.
