Job Summary:
Callaway Gardens is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook 1 to prepare meals as ordered by guests and ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen. The Cook 1 will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and equipment safety, and adhering to food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals as ordered by guests
- Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen
- Adhere to food safety standards and equipment safety
- Monitor food cost controls and food quality standards
- Operate different areas of the kitchen as required
- Assist with kitchen inventory management and ordering supplies
- Follow kitchen schedules and ensure timely preparation of meals
- Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff as needed
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience as a Cook 1
- Excellent knowledge of cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety standards and equipment safety
