Job Summary
The Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary department within a healthcare or institutional setting. Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the dietary department to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for food services while maintaining cost-effective practices.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess the nutritional needs of residents or patients.
- Provide health coaching to individuals, guiding them on dietary choices that align with their health goals.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to create tailored care plans based on individual dietary requirements.
- Ensure the proper preparation and presentation of meals that meet dietary guidelines and preferences.
- Train and mentor dietary staff in best practices for food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
- Maintain accurate records related to food service operations, including inventory management and meal counts.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a dietary department or food service setting is essential.
- Strong knowledge of dietetics, including physiology knowledge related to nutrition and health.
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting and financial management within a food service context.
- Experience in developing care plans that address specific dietary needs is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with health coaching principles and practices is advantageous.
- Previous experience in diagnostic evaluation related to nutrition is a plus.
