Part Time Weekend RN

Position Overview: The Part-Time Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility during weekends. This role involves managing medical needs, administering treatments, and ensuring the well-being of residents in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This candidate will also follow and keep up to date with OSDH LTC Regulations and CMS guidance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
• Assess and monitor residents' health conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Coordinate and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
• Provide wound care, catheter care, and other specialized nursing procedures as required.
• Documentation & Communication:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each resident.
• Document all care provided and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals regarding care and treatment plans.
• Emergency Response:
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide necessary interventions.
• Document and report incidents and changes in resident conditions according to facility protocols.
• Collaboration & Teamwork:
• Work closely with other nursing staff, physicians, and therapists to ensure coordinated and effective care.
• Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development and review of care plans.
• Act as a leader with a teamwork approach in the facility
• Patient Education:
• Educate residents and their families about health management, medications, and care procedures.
• Provide guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention as appropriate.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Adhere to all facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines for nursing care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
• Experience: Previous experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.

• Ability to provide compassionate and effective patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to handle stressful and emergency situations calmly and effectively.
