Cleaning Technician I

Summary/Objective:

The Cleaning Technician will perform routine checks and cleaning of equipment, vehicles, and facility using established procedures/standards.

Essential Functions:

• Execute sanitation schedule consisting of Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Semi-Annual, and Annual tasks.
• Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in assigned areas.
• Operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures.
• Perform limited grounds maintenance including cleaning snow from sidewalks.
• Maintain a neat and orderly supply room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
• Remove trash, recycling and general clean up around facility.
• Assist in examining for safety hazards, reports deficiencies to supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Work in team environment, with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Work safely with minimal direction or supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
• Read, understand, and follow cleaning practices/safety procedures related to the use of hazardous chemicals (SDS).
• Follow verbal and written instructions regarding the use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Check for the correct chemical concentration using the titration kits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
