Our Practice:
We are a 4 doctor, full-service veterinary clinic near Kalispell, dedicated to using the best resources to care for pets. Located just 9 miles west of Kalispell in Kila, we serve all of the Flathead Valley and beyond. Taking gentle care of pets and giving peace of mind is the cornerstone of our 40 years in practice. We provide traditional medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, in house diagnostics, digital full and dental radiography, and ultrasound. We also offer complementary therapies of acupuncture and chiropractic canine rehab and laser therapy to provide the best of both worlds.
Job Description:
The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include IV catheter placement, blood draws, performing dental prophys, taking dental and full body radiographs, monitoring patients in surgery. Other duties involved in animal handling and patient care as needed, as well as more advanced procedures as training allows. Must be able to carry out doctor’s instructions, assist in exam rooms and surgery, and effectively communicate with the team and with clients. Hours may require flexibility with hospital needs. The technician will have familiarity with and compliance to policies and procedures as listed in the employee handbook and safety manual.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to use a computer in an ergonomic and safe manner
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Able to lift at least 50 lbs., be on your feet up to 10 hours per day, walking or standing for extended periods, frequently working in a bent position
· Able to properly restraint of large dogs and energetic cats
· Ability to be on hands and knees for taking radiographs, restraining animals and cleaning kennels.

Assumed Attributes & Skills:
· Veterinary Technician Certification (preferred) or 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
· Basic computer literacy – we will train on our practice management software (Avimark)
· Be kind, dependable, well spoken, confident and mature, maintaining professional and courteous demeanor

· Ability to deal with the emotional demand of being in the presence of critically ill patients and their emotionally distraught owners
