Position Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role includes a mix of in-office sessions (Albany, Syracuse,Buffalo) and telehealth services, allowing flexibility while maintaining high-quality client care. The LCSW will work with law enforcement personnel, military service members, and their families, providing individual, group, couples and family therapy.
Responsibilities include providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities such as EMDR, CPT, prolonged exposure, and solution-focused therapy. The clinician will conduct comprehensive intake assessments using standardized screening tools for trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use, as well as develop realistic, strengths-based treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. Additional responsibilities include crisis assessment and intervention, wellness-based interventions, coordination of care with other providers, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system, and adherence to HIPAA and ethical standards. Participation in case consultations, clinical supervision, and staff meetings is expected, along with staying up to date on best practices in trauma treatment, military behavioral health, and first responder mental health.
The LCSW will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, engage in ongoing professional development, and contribute to community outreach efforts by educating law enforcement agencies, military units, and first responder organizations about mental health.
Required Qualifications
- Active LCSW license in New York (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience in trauma-focused therapy, particularly for military and first responders
- Strong background in evidence-based treatments (EMDR, CPT, DBT, ACT, or prolonged exposure therapy preferred)
- Experience in crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Familiarity with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language) is highly desirable
- Certification or training in EMDR, CPT, or trauma-informed care
- Experience working in law enforcement, military, corrections, or first responder settings
- Knowledge of forensic mental health, wellness programs, and behavioral health initiatives
