What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Machinist position at Calmax Technology?
We are looking for CNC Lathe Machinists to join our 1st and 2nd shifts in Santa Clara, CA.
CNC Lathe Machinist Responsibilities:
- Reviews work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters to run parts according to customer blueprints and instructions
- Ability to read and interpret CNC programs to maintain close tolerances (within /- .0001)
- Sets up lathe production equipment for junior CNC Lathe Machinists and conducts tests, analyses, and calibrates components
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut
- Enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established company policy, safety procedures, and vendor standards
- Installs, maintains, repairs, rebuilds, and operates a variety of lathe machining tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Experience in a precision machine shop environment
- Experience on CNC Mill equipment performing set-up and program prove-outs
- Must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- At least 6 months of experience in machine tool operation or 6 months machining training, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training
Preferred Skills:
- Training in basic shop and measurement math, including linear measurement, metrics, algebra and geometry
- Familiarity with ISO documentation and processes is a big plus
Pay:
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Employees on the 2nd shift receive an addition 10% differential towards their pay
- 10% differential = Hourly Pay X .10
- Eligible for Overtime
- Opportunity for a one-time retention bonus after a set number of completed regular work hours
