Greenfield Supply Center is looking for a personable, reliable, and hardworking member to join our service team, focused on small engines and compact equipment. Under general supervision, inspects, repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, assembles, maintains, and/or installs one or several related types of mechanical assemblies while also performing routine task in maintenance, repair, or installation of equipment, and machinery and/or operates mechanical equipment. As a small engine and compact equipment service technician, your job duties would include but are not limited to:
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs.
- Perform all machine and/or engine repairs and adjustments.
- Test and verify correct operations of all repairs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
- Set up new equipment to prepare it for sale.
- Inspect and maintain rental equipment.
- General and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with plow and spreader installations.
- Performs emergency repairs as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a service mechanic.
- Must have your own tools.
- Experience with 2 and 4 cycle motors.
- Ability to read English sufficiently to be able to read information contained in manuals, regulations, and reports, including safety issues and related matters.
- Ability to speak English and communicate with others.
- Basic English language skills for completion of various paperwork.
- Use basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements.
- High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to operate scale control house.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- May be required to work overtime and/or different shifts when circumstances warrant as determined by the supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely operate equipment, mount and dismount equipment, safely hook-up, secure and transport equipment. Periods of extensive sitting, standing and squatting are routinely required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
