1.1 About Caltex And The Role
Caltex Oil Tools, headquartered in Tomball, Texas, is a solutions-focused products and services company serving the global offshore oil and gas industry. Our systems utilize automated remote technologies to enhance precision, reduce complexity, and increase the reliability of subsea operations. If technology or componentry is required for a project and not available in the market, we will create it. With our team you will have the opportunity to perform multiple white sheet designs per year and see them get put into production. This pace and operational methodology requires creative innovation and existing in a state of “How can we do this better?” and doing away with “This is how it has always been done”. At Caltex you will get to work on everything from simple cleaning tools, subsea “CNC” machines, well intervention packages, to myriad other bespoke projects.
We are an organization that promotes an innovative and cooperative workplace. The engineering team is an integral part of that collaboration. As an employee of the engineering department, you will be expected to assist others and provide guidance within your relative expertise, and sometimes outside of your area of expertise using your best engineering judgement. It is expected that during engagements with others (tag ups, design reviews, meetings, etc.) that you have a posture of continuous improvement, humility, and interest in the contributions others have to offer.
