What you'll be doing:
- Architect and lead the implementation of Process Automation System (PAS) projects for Mining and /or any other sectors such as Life Science customers, applying S95 and S88 project concepts, oil/gas, etc..
- Analyze customer project requirements and develop detailed scope of work
- Work with customers to influence long-term automation plans and strategies, identify potential projects, explain Emerson products and services capabilities and frame those projects including financial justification
- Work with customers to develop project methodologies that will enhance their standards.
- Work with customer’s process engineers to develop functional requirements
- Lead project teams responsible for the design, configuration and testing of continuous and batch control strategies including operational graphics
- Plan, coordinate and review the work of a project team
- Participate in or lead the start-up of complex systems at the client facility
- Understand the project scope and financials; identify change orders and justify changes to Project Management
- Act as a liaison between the internal project team, internal management and the client
- Proactively develop customer relationships; anticipate and provide solutions to customer needs giving high priority to customer satisfaction
- Support project estimation
- Act as a mentor for individuals within the engineering organization
What we are looking for:
- B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10 years plus of relevant work experience including project delivery
- In-depth experience integrating field instrumentation for industrial applications
- Proficient in analysis of P&ID and electrical schematics
- Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States
Preferred:
- Prior experience in Mining and any other sectors (life sciences, oil/gas, etc)
- Experience with Rockwell AB and / or DeltaV process control systems
- Experience with industry specific process control terminologies and standards
Hiring Range:
The hiring range for the Sr. Automation Automation Projects Engineer position is $130,000 - $150,000 (base) annually plus Quarterly Profit Sharing. The pay range for the Lead Automation Projects Engineer position is $150,000 - $170,000 (base) annually plus Quarterly Profit Sharing. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity. It may vary based on the geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate, along with the requirements of the position.

Physical Demands:
Normal office setting – also visits customer sites where the environment varies by industry. Sites may be loud with exposure to varying degrees of temperature. While on site, PPE may be required including wearing safety shoes. While on site, extended periods of walking and standing may be required.
Travel:
25% travel required. Travel is typically required during project kickoff, startup and commissioning activities. Travel may occur over several consecutive weeks all at once.
