Director of Online Learning and Institutional Effectiveness will oversee the institutional learning management system, online academic partnerships, and online faculty development. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director is also responsible for working collaboratively with faculty to maintain the College’s online policies and procedures. The Director is further charged with ensured that that faculty receive regular training opportunities in distance education and hybrid learning. The Director also conducts or coordinates workshops for student success for online and hybrid learning. The Director is also charged with faculty and staff to develop effective strategies for the academic assessment of student learning outcomes at general education and program levels. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a forward-thinking approach to planning, technology, pedagogy, and delivery in program development, management, quality and strategy.
Calumet College of St. Joseph (CCSJ) is a private, four-year Catholic institution, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, offering master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees. Located blocks from Lake Michigan and about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, we offer small class sizes and individualized attention to about 400 traditional undergraduate students on a commuter campus. Accelerated and graduate programs meet here at night or in off-campus locations.
Essential Functions :
Online Education (75%)
- Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, training and usage of the institutional learning management system.
- Provide technical and administrative assistance to provide a variety of learning opportunities to meet both faculty and student needs related to online learning and other topics.
- Serve as institutional liaison to external online academic consortial partners.
- Monitor and ensure virtual learning program compliance with all local, state and federal agency regulations, policies and procedures.
- Provide expertise and support for faculty on the design, implementation, and analysis of online and hybrid courses.
- Stay abreast of best practices in online student learning in higher education, reporting practices, and interpreting assessment results to guide improvements.
- Support efforts in building an organizational culture of online quality assurance activities related to policy, planning, evaluation, assessment, and continuous improvement.
