What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Radio Operations Manager position at Calvary Albuquerque Inc?
PURPOSE: The Assistant Radio Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of the radio stations (both terrestrial and online) operated by Calvary Albuquerque.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Provide Daily/Weekly updates as needed to the Radio General Manager.
Manage and schedule on air staff & special broadcast events
Communicate with Engineers (Pace Audio) regarding repairs/upgrades/use of equipment and upkeeps as well as provide weekly task update to the engineers.
Program on-air content for all teaching stations and teaching block programming.
Oversee and/or load KLYT station imaging.
On-air facilitator of the KLYT weekday afternoon show
Perform on-air announcements between programs.
Provide necessary traffic updates.
Ensure programming stays on time to maintain a reliable on-air schedule.
Trouble-shoot equipment or programming failures.
Assist with the operation of Star 88
Provide operational counsel to station with emphasis on productivity, cost, technology and production capabilities.
Maintain a library of forms (checklists, station logs, etc.) and memos used regularly by the staff.
KLYT On-Air Personality as scheduled
Manage Gospel Brunch content
Assist in voiceovers and production for non-commercial and promotional announcements
Assist in imaging production for KLYT & Star 88
Oversee KLYT & Star 88 social media developing strategies and making regular posts
Create promos, public service announcements and vignettes for KLYT Radio
Act as board operator and utilize radio automation programs for programs as scheduled
Serve as producer for programs as assigned
Completion of voice tracking and program loading for on-air use
Support of remote assignments as requested
Utilization of production software and radio automation programs
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Document EAS compliance
- Update supervisor on Radio Department activities
- Send Pace Audio task update
- DJ Meeting as needed (Operations Manager led, but special instruction from Radio General Manager occasionally)
- Make sure Best Of is loaded for service if Skip isnt teaching
- CRO Training
- Attend staff devos
- Voice Track weekend
Daily:
- Meter readings
- Check email/voicemail and respond/act on appropriately
- Review and act on prayer requests
- Maintain Open door policy for staff needing assistance
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent College Degree preferred Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal skills Ability to update equipment and/or software as technology changes Maintain current knowledge about FCC updates, equipment, programming, etc. Knowledge of operating on-air and/or production mixing console Working knowledge of audio editing software (RCS Adobe Audition preferred) Able to work confidently and professionally alongside executive and industry personnel Quick learner and able to accept new tasks
