What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lighting Tech: Part-time position at Calvary Albuquerque Inc?
PURPOSE:
The Lighting Engineer is responsible for maintaining and regulating all lighting equipment. They are also responsible for setting up lights, configuring the lighting software, and programming and performing lights shows for services and special events at both Calvary main campus and Westside campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up lights and makes sure they are aligned and functioning properly.
- Programs light shows on the lighting console/computer.
- Performs light shows for services and special events.
- Balances white light for sermons.
- Helps set up new lighting configurations and schemes.
- Design, plan and execute stage designs with stage designer.
- Works together with video team to ensure sufficient lighting for broadcast and recording.
- Controls house light levels during services and special events.
- Help to manage lighting systems, fixtures and inventory.
- Have an intimate knowledge of all lighting systems on all campuses.
- Provide backup sound engineering services when needed
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Light show setup and performance for services and special events
- Verify that lighting equipment is in proper working condition
- Control white light during services
- Control house lights for services and events
- Gain control of all set pieces and lighting technologies made by stage designer.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience in lighting/production
- Experience using Lighting consoles preferred
- Trained in concert and theater lighting techniques
- Desire to serve congregation and staff in lighting position
- Ability to train and coach our lighting systems to others.
- Working knowledge of DMX, Art-net and other lighting control protocols
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot to fix problems
- Basic understanding of electrical equipment, electricity and cabling
- Strong project and time management skills
