Summary Statement
Provide academic support through intensive teaching and training in a particular subject area while sharing knowledge in the subject area, providing encouragement, demonstrating professionalism and preparedness, and exemplifying a Christ-like attitude.
Position Requirements or Standards
Professes Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
Faithfully attends and financially supports a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Calvary Day School and ACSI.
Relates a Christian lifestyle and experience to daily life and work
Becomes familiar with the needs of the student(s) who are receiving tutoring
Overarching Duties
Models Christian principles of living
Seeks to promote positive self-esteem in each student
Uses a variety of positive reinforcements in the classroom
Arrives punctually and with consistent attendance
Continues to seek knowledge in subject areas pertinent to the tutoring subject
Helps promote Calvary Day School
Preparation for Tutoring Sessions
Know content (personal knowledge of subject matter and expectation for students) that is expected to be taught
Plan for tutoring sessions
Assess student academic needs
Be aware of student assignments
Provide appropriate learning materials
Punctuality with time and attendance
Be available to be present at academic team meetings, if necessary
Begin each tutoring session with prayer.
Communicate
Regularly communicate student progress with the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s)
Regularly communicate with student’s teachers
Communicate tutoring schedule changes with the student’s parent(s)/guardians(s) and CLR Director
Paycom information should be updated with each tutoring session
Record notes from each tutoring session to share with the student’s parents and CLR Director
End of the month billing information should be sent to the CLR Director by the last day of each month
Encourage, Inspire, and Point the students toward Christ
