Summary
Calvary West is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and relationally minded individual to serve as the Student Ministry Director. This person will lead middle and high school students to set their hope in God and engage in the mission of God. The ideal candidate is following Jesus, called to ministry, and loves working with and ministering to students and their families. The Student Director will serve under the leadership of the Campus Pastor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leadership and Vision: Implement the mission, vision, and values of the church as it relates to student ministry at Calvary West.
- Discipleship and Teaching: Implement the discipleship strategy of the church as it relates to student ministry at Calvary West.
- Outreach and Evangelism: Develop and implement a strategy to reach unchurched students and their families, including collaborative partnerships in the community (with schools, para-church ministries, etc.).
- Relationship Building: Get to know, love, and shepherd middle and high school students and their families.
- Leader Recruitment and Training: Identifying, developing, and mobilizing leaders to serve students.
- Ministry Planning and Execution: In collaboration with the appropriate teams, plan and execute ongoing ministry programming (Sunday AM/PM) as well as other programs like mission trips, camps, student hangouts, etc.
- Administration and Communication: Maintain accurate records for student participation and attendance, guest follow-up, and programming evaluations. Communicate regularly with students, parents, leaders, and church leadership about student ministry programming, upcoming events, and opportunities for involvement.
Primary Requirements
- Passionate about connecting students to God and his mission
- Proven ability and desire to cultivate relationships with students and their families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leader and ability to identify and develop other leaders
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in student ministry
- Teachable spirit and willingness to learn
- Collaborative worker across ministry areas
- Member of Calvary or becoming a member of Calvary
