Position Description
JOB TITLE Content Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Calvary Christian Academy
REPORTS TO: Director of Communications
STATUS: Salary Non-Exempt, 12-Month
HOURS: Full Time (40)
LOCATION: All CCA Campuses

Purpose Statement:
The Content Specialist works closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications providing assistance in all stages of the publication of blog posts, social media management, and a broad range of communication materials. This position also supports with the administration of the commissioning, strategic planning and production of such projects.
Scope:
The Content Specialist will produce engaging digital and traditional content that is relevant to the CCA audiences, reinforces CCA’s brand, and supports enrollment efforts.
The Content Specialist will be responsible for bringing the school’s marketing strategy to life by researching, writing, creating, and publishing relevant content to be distributed over various mediums, including the all schools internal parent platforms that serve as the communications hub for each school location. This position will require the extraction of the stories and expertise that’s inside our organization across all campuses and communicate through various content types.
Specific Responsibilities:
Full time (40 hours/week) - However, the incumbent may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend a CCA event, assist with a special project, or assist in an emergency situation affecting the church facilities.

Monday-Friday: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Saturday: Off

Specific Responsibilities:
- Know and understand the vision, mission, and brand identity of our organization
- Adhere to the editorial guidelines and standards in place for the organization
- Responsible for writing, reviewing, and approving all event messaging for all campuses (including MyCCA, Emails, Flyers, and bi-weekly In Case You Missed It newsletters)
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement content strategies that are in alignment with the goals/mission of our school for all content presented in print, blogs, email, social media, etc.
- Discover, gather, and share the stories of Calvary Christian Academy’s students, staff, and alumni
- Available to train and collaborate with interns
- Utilize software for the creation of media content
- Organizing and researching projects on tight deadlines
- Ensures that materials are as near to "press ready" as possible before submitting for internal approval
- Copywriting/editing for social media, blog, print, and other mediums
- Responsible for writing, editing, and reviewing all event messaging and general announcements for all staff
- Drafts blog posts bi-weekly for all campuses
- Review previous messages and plan ahead for 3-6 months
- Photography support as needed
- Perform other department-related tasks as needed and assigned by the department lead
- Attend Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale quarterly Huddle staff meetings
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs
- Strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word
- Strong commitment to the mission of Calvary Chapel as well as the educational philosophy of Calvary Christian Academy
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or a related area. Or 2 years’ experience in marketing, publishing, communications or related fields
- Strong writing skills and passionate about storytelling
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, work independently, and take initiative with minimal supervision and oversight
- Must have an understanding of audience engagement, content strategies, and brand aesthetic
- Ability to use various word processing, spreadsheet, photo editing, and web editing applications, including a working knowledge of Google Applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under strict deadlines
- Communication and organizational skills
- Strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, church body, and vendors
- Good organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Ability to sit in front of a computer screen for prolonged hours at a time
- Photography and video skills are a plus
- Understanding of HTML, and CSS a plus
- Experience with project management software (Monday.com, Asana, etc.) a plus
