What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian/Janitor position at Calvary Christian Academy?
This position is for immediate hire and it consists of a 40 hour workweek (Monday - Friday). This facility is a church with a school onsite.
The primary responsibility of this custodial position will be cleaning. The custodian is also responsible for maintaining and protecting the campus. Work performed must be detailed and thorough in cleaning the premises. The custodial position requires physical endurance and a keen eye for detail are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. This individual supports operations in every capacity within the Facilities Department.
Duties:
1. Responsible for sweeping floors.
2. Responsible for mopping assigned areas.
3. Vacuum carpets (classrooms, sanctuary, office space, common areas, etc) and ensure area rugs are clean.
4. Wipe all counters and desktops in assigned areas.
5. Remove trash from all trash bins and shredders and place collection in trash containers located in the parking lot.
6. Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
7. Ensure lights, heater/air conditioners; television, alarm, etc. are turned off (end of the day – end of shift).
8. Ensure facility doors are secured and locked.
9. Stock paper products, soap and other items as needed in all classroom and restrooms.
10. Clean all restroom fixtures (toilets, sinks, counters, boxes, partitions).
11. Clean restroom mirrors and maintains glass doors (foyer doors, office, etc.) clean.
12. Report major damages to Facilities Director.
13. Occasional custodian and janitorial tasks (lifting heavy items, moving chairs, etc.)
14. May perform other duties assigned by Facilities Director.
