Title: Director of Young Women’s Ministry
Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, ministry staff
Purpose: To assist the Calvary Student Ministries (CSM) team with leadership and shepherding to female students, leaders and parents. To contribute to the ministries needs in the areas of communication, administration, and discipleship.
Working Relationship:
A member of Ministry Staff who is accountable to the Board of Elders through the Senior Pastor with direct supervision to the Director of Student Ministries and a working relationship with the Director of Women's Ministry.
Qualification:
- Organizational abilities to manage a wide range of ministry needs and deadlines
- A thorough knowledge of Scripture and its relevance to relational discipleship
- Competency in technology and social media
- An ability to be a team-player on staff and lead teams of volunteers
- A Biblical education from a Bible college or Seminary, or its equivalent
Values and Beliefs
- Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministry
- Must regularly attend and participate at Calvary Church
Responsibilities
One Sentence Job Description
To lead and equip in the discipling of young women.
Discipleship
- Invest time in recruiting, relational discipleship and training of female small group leaders
- Strategically partner with parents in the mentoring of their students and be a resource with specific emphasis to parents of female students
- Support female leaders and coaches in areas of personal or student group difficulties
- When difficult circumstances arise, be willing to counsel teenage girls and help them find the additional support they may need
- Contribute towards and be a vision carrier of student ministry
- Mentor and disciple female students as opportunities present themselves
Communication
- Student Ministry point of contact for social media content, creation, and posting
- Creating and overseeing regular parent and leader emails
- Works closely with the Calvary Church Communications team
Administration
- Work with CSM staff to organize weekly and one-time events, leader trainings, and short-term mission trips through planning, organization and administration.
General Ministry Staff Responsibilities
- Strive to uphold the Staff Commitment
- Collaborate with Student Ministries, in conjunction with Adult Discipleship Team in developing goals, budgets, reports and evaluations as requested by Supervisor, Senior Pastor or Elders
- Stay current in cultural and biblical skills through professional development
- Maintain a regular schedule balancing time with people, study of God’s Word, prayer for the ministry of Calvary Church and administrative tasks.
- Be involved and invested in appropriate staff meetings and staff events
- Serve in other areas as requested by leadership
- Partner with the rest of the staff to create an environment conducive to ministering to students
- Pray for the ministers of the church
Work Schedule and Time Allotment
Work schedule: full-time, flexible related to programs and projects.
Sunday responsibilities as requested
To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with designated supervisor.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Light physical work requirements (lifting 10-20 lbs.), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, prolonged positioning under hot bright lights, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions and prolonged looking at monitors and computer screens and operating a mouse and keyboard.
Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation or elimination of those ideas.
