Job Description
Calvary Church, Lancaster, PA
Title: Maintenance Technician
Status: Part-time
Focus: To support Calvary Church by providing day-to-day general maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and property to ensure that the occupants have a comfortable and safe experience.
Working Relationship: Accountable to the Senior Pastor, with direct supervision for their responsibilities to the Director of Facilities Services. A member of the Facilities Department Team.
Qualifications
- Educational qualifications require a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of MEP trades and/or construction background
- Experienced with repairs and operation of a variety of equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers, excavation equipment, and standard vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, specs, operations manuals etc.
- General landscaping/grounds maintenance experience
- An ability to be a team-player within the staff and lead teams of volunteers

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for performing highly diversified duties such as: installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the facility’s MEP equipment and vehicles according to safety, preventive, and proactive maintenance schedules normal building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting repairs as assigned
- Process, complete, and respond to work orders in a timely manner as assigned by the facilities manager
- Organize and maintain assigned tools and supplies
- Perform construction of stage sets/props and other architectural projects within the building
- Responsible for the security system and all inspections of MEP systems
- Maintain church fleet of vehicles, which includes standard cars/trucks as well as heavy snow removal equipment, Omni bus, and shuttle carts. Schedule inspections and routine maintenance
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
- Perform landscaping and mowing as needed
- Act as the church representative with Manheim township during any permitting process
Additional secondary responsibilities
- Assist with event set-ups/clean-ups
- Perform custodial duties as needed
- Assist with snow removal
- Assist with” All Staff” projects as they arise
- Pray for the ministry of the church
Work Schedule and Time Allotment
- Work schedule: part-time, flexible, related to programs and projects.
- Sunday responsibilities
- To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with his supervisor.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Light physical work requirements (lifting 50-100 lbs), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, and occasionally outside in differing weather conditions.
- Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills.
- Basic computer skills are required.
