Job Summary:
-
Operates and maintains the efficient operation of the facility's high pressure steam boilers and associated equipment. Maintains and repairs air-handling units, chillers, cooling towers, exhaust systems, heating systems, pumps, valves, piping and electrical systems. Monitors temperatures, pressures and levels (i.e., water, oil, chemicals) associated with pertinent machinery and performs necessary adjustments, repairs and replacements to equipment.

Education:

Position requires a high school diploma or GED or 2-3 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
-
Unexpired National or State of Maryland Stationary Engineer License (third grade or better).

Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.

Experience:

Position requires 2-3 years related experience.

Other Requirements:
-
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

Specific technical skills required to fulfill department requirements.

Up to six (6) months on-the-job training to gain proficiency.

Effectively communicates with all staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.

Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.

Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.

May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.
