Job Summary :
Responsible for providing direct patient care in acute care, sub-acute and / or outpatient settings. Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy treatment modalities and therapeutic procedures through his / her application in patient care. Effectively applies all physical therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs and physician orders. Completes all required documentation, assists in scheduling and attends interdisciplinary rounds / committee meetings as assigned.

- Required to lift and / or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds with modified lifting devices.
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions that drive an appropriate plan of care.
- CPR training required within 30 days of hire
- If functioning as Women's Health Physical Therapist, appropriate certification required; i.e., Women's Health PT, Women's Health Specialist / PT.
- Inpatient therapists must complete 4 hours of stroke training annually.
Position requires a master's degree or 5-7 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. 6 months experience in an inpatient acute and / or sub-acute care setting required. Clinical rotations required during educational coursework in PT may be substituted for direct work experience.
Must possess a current license from the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy.
Must demonstrate competence to provide physical rehabilitation services by reason of education, training and experience.
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and / or any other department requirements.
