As a part-time CNA at Calvin Community, you’ll play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents while working in a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of promoting health, wellness, and comfort for our residents, and you’ll be supported by a strong and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Resident Care: Provide personal care services to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assistance with daily living activities.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help residents with movement and mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in resident behavior or health status to unit managers and families.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and charts regarding care provided and resident observations.
- Care Support: Assist nursing staff with procedures, treatments, and activities as directed by a nurse or physician.
- Emergency Response: Assist charge nurse with emergency medical situations, providing care as directed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and family members to ensure resident care needs are met.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with residents and their families.
- Stress Management: Patience and adaptability when working in challenging or high-pressure situations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong observation skills with the ability to respond appropriately to resident needs and changes in health status.
- A current, valid CNA certification in good standing in the state of Iowa.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal and state long-term care and skilled regulations.
