Position Summary

The Global Assistant Merchandiser at Calvin Klein supports the brand's global merchandising strategy across various channels. This role involves executing merchandising plans, overseeing product lifecycle management, conducting market research, and collaborating with design, supply chain, raw materials, marketing, and sales teams. The Assistant Merchandiser will be the true foundation of the team, responsible for information accuracy and timeliness as it relates to seasonal assortments and day-to-day deliverables. The Assistant Merchandiser will work hand in hand with the Merchandiser to help lead cross-functional teams throughout the product development calendar to deliver a product offering that is on brand, on time, and meets or achieves margin targets.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities Of The Job

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Assist in managing the product lifecycle from concept to market launch, ensuring a cohesive and compelling product assortment.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and consumer preferences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, supply chain, raw materials, marketing, and sales teams to ensure product offerings meet market demands and brand standards.
  • Data Management: Manage and maintain data in the Centric PLM system to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information. Maintain all seasonal reports/records (line matrix, change log, sku plans, hindsights).
  • SMS/Proto Delivery and Tracking: Support the delivery, organization and tracking of SMS and proto samples to ensure timely and accurate product development.
  • Team Support: Contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence by supporting and collaborating with the merchandising team.
  • Communication: Clear, concise communication skills when downloading various cross functional partners on anything assortment related (updates, drops, adds, pivots in strategy, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 0-2 years of Global Merchandising experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or equivalent

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct market research and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, supply chain, raw materials, marketing, and sales.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure product quality and consistency with brand standards.
  • Data Management: Experience with data management systems, preferably Centric PLM.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions and consumer preferences.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct: None

Indirect: Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as design, marketing, and sales. While these teams do not report directly to the director, effective coordination and influence are essential to ensure alignment with merchandising strategies and objectives.

Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Developing and managing the merchandising budget to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Pricing Strategies: Establishing and overseeing pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling costs associated with product development, co-creation samples, marketing, and distribution.

Decision Making

  • Product Decisions: Supporting key decisions on product assortment, lifecycle management, and market launches to ensure a compelling and cohesive product offering.
  • Collaborative Decisions: Coordinating with design, supply, raw materials, marketing, and regional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of merchandising plans.
  • Operational Decisions: Supporting day-to-day operations, including sales and inventory management, supply chain coordination (from proto and SMS tracking to delivery of bulk goods), and cost control measures.

  • Revenue Growth: Driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising strategies and product assortments.
  • Brand Positioning: Enhancing the brand's market presence and consumer perception by ensuring a cohesive and compelling product offering.
  • Market Specific Needs and Expansion: Identifying all market specific needs and capitalizing on new market opportunities to expand the brand's global footprint.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamlining processes and improving coordination across design, supply, marketing, and sales teams to optimize product development and distribution.
  • Consumer Engagement: Aligning product offerings with consumer preferences and trends to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Must be able to analyze trends and apply them to assortment building in order to maximize sell-through.
  • Soft ‘power’ skills that individuals need to thrive in ambiguous workplaces are stress-tolerance, good communication skills (both verbal and written).

Pay Range:$60,500 - $73,500

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
