Summary
The full-time Clinic Instructor is responsible for working with the Clinic Director to provide quality clinical services. This position is located on the Grand Rapids campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Clinical Responsibilities
Assist students with providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for the clinic.
Help to maintain a pool of clients for the on-campus clinic.
Conduct evaluations and develop interventions for clinic clients.
Document client and student progress.
Provide family counseling.
Mentor students for the practicum experiences.
Maintain Continuing Education on topics relevant to clinic instruction and clinical services provided.
Administrative Responsibilities
Write daily progress reports and semester evaluations for students.
Meet at least weekly with students to discuss progress.
Liaison and coordinate services with outside agencies.
Ensure clinical practices meet all HIPPA and OSHA standards.
Participate in collection of program assessment data.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Position supervises delivery of speech pathology services primarily via telehealth and/or on campus.
Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology; three to five years’ experience of clinical experience in speech-language pathology; thorough academic and clinical knowledge of speech-language pathology required as well as strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and mediation skills necessary. Proficiency in Spanish is desired but not required.

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP). Michigan licensure is required. Additional states’ licensure is appreciated. The clinic instructor also will be required to maintain at least 10 continuing education units in clinical supervision and related areas per year.

The position requires the ability to draft and edit correspondence; train or instruct employee/students in the same department; or tasks requiring significant communication skills.
Handles confidential information.
