SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the repair, maintenance and replacement of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Maintain kitchen equipment by repairing, performing preventive maintenance and repairing existing equipment to ensure that equipment functions well to meet food service needs.
2. Maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment by repairing, performing preventive maintenance and installing equipment to ensure well functioning equipment.
3. Maintain domestic appliances by repairing, performing preventive maintenance and installing appliances to ensure well functioning appliances.
4. Maintain inventory by researching and selecting vendors; ordering equipment and supplies; receiving and organizing inventory to ensure availability of equipment and supplies.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Requires journey-level skilled trade's certificate and / or licensing; five to ten years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with residential and commercial HVAC and exhaust systems; commercial kitchen equipment; and domestic appliance repair is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Licensed Mechanical Contractor. Refrigeration transition and recovery license.
COMPLEXITY
The position requires the ability to carry out detailed written / oral / diagram form instructions. Deals with standardized situations involving several variables.
