RESIDENT ASSISTANT - ENTRADA SCHOLARS PROGRAM
SUMMARY :
The Resident Assistant (RA) for the Entrada Scholars Program is part of a team of eight-to-nine Resident Assistants and is responsible for residence hall functions for the Entrada Scholars Program. Resident Assistants live in the dorm and are responsible for providing supervision for up to 80 Entrada participants. RAs help to foster a Christian community that is conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual development of Entrada Scholars by developing relationships, serving as mentors, encouraging the academic work of Scholars, assisting in the development and implementation of activities for spiritual growth, identity formation and community life, and enforcing program expectations. Additional duties may include leading events and workshops throughout the program.
This is a full-time, residential position that includes work on weekends and evenings. Due to the nature of this position, RAs are not able to work at other jobs, take classes, or attend special events during the training and duration of the program (June 24 - July 25).

Resident Directors of the Entrada Scholars Program
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
1) Appreciation and knowledge of the Entrada Scholars Program and Calvin University
2) Ability to learn, follow, and give instructions
3) Good academic standing at Calvin University (minimum 3.0 GPA)
4) Prior experience working in a team setting and / or leadership position
5) Cultural competency and a commitment to develop it further
6) Ability to lead devotions in a small group setting
STRONGLY PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
1) Driver's license and willingness to drive a 12-passenger van
2) Second, third, and fourth-year Calvin students
3) Prior summer camp supervisory experience
COMPENSATION :
1850 paid in two installments in July. Room and board will be provided.

This position requires the ability to explain college policies in difficult situations, occasionally write and edit reports, and coordinate activities requiring significant communication skills. Handles confidential information.

The work in this position is performed within routine summer camp environments, usually without exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions.
