Jr. Buyer
OPERATIONS, SLC (on-site)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Buyer to help further grow and establish Calyx Containers Supply Chain through strategic sourcing and vendor management. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our global supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient procurement of products from suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position requires a strong analytical mind set and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Monitor vendor accountability and implement improvement strategies as needed.
- Work with Quality Manager to ensure vendor materials are validated against our Quality expectations
- Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
- New products:
- Work closely with the Product development team to launch new materials for customers.
- Ensure new products are integrated into existing processes for a streamlined order to delivery process
- Work with Director of Supply Chain to onboard new vendors
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to meet the company's product requirements in collaboration with the Quality department.
- Negotiate costs to optimize our cost structure while maintaining product quality.
- Participate and provide quarterly and annual goals for the department and ensure execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 1-2 years experience in a supply chain role preferably in a sourcing or procurement role
- Experience in material structures related to label and flexible packaging manufacturing is a HUGE plus
- Analytical mindset, with strong statistical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP system and supply chain management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop effective internal and external relationships with vendors
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excel experience, and competence in using spreadsheets to aggregate and analyze data to determine decisions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Must be able to be on-site in West Valley City 5 days per week.
