Position Summary
The P6 Scheduler is responsible for supporting site leadership and construction operations and project management teams in developing, maintaining, and reporting upon detailed project schedules. This position ensures project schedule details are accurate, consistent, and monitored through the project life cycle.
Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the site leadership in developing project scope of work for required Project Controls tasks
• Collaborate with preconstruction, development, and project management to develop and maintain detailed schedules of construction projects
• Study and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of schedules
• Work with all relevant projects and discipline personnel to prepare schedules
• Convert the scope of work documents into a logically linked, resourced project schedule
• Prepare realistic, achievable schedules using logical networks and where necessary integrate engineering, procurement, and construction schedules with an emphasis on the engineering and procurement pieces
• Develop progress curves and manpower histograms
• Monitor progress against project schedule and prepare progress reports
• Collect expended man-hours and prepare Earned Value reports and analysis
• Prepare, review, and ensure the timely issue of all relevant reports to stakeholders
• Verbally and in writing advise project management and discipline personnel on impacts, and contingencies and generally guide the scopes towards the earliest possible finish
• Provide realistic resource forecast data at a project and corporate level
• Manage cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules
• Participate in schedule and project risk analysis as required
• Analyze progress and effects on schedule and advise necessary corrective actions
• Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews.
• Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems.
• Review change request/change order logs with site leadership weekly. Assist in compiling scope change requests.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to train Field Operations & Project Management staff to learn, or increase skills, in project scheduling.
• Build and maintain cost and resource loaded programmatic schedules. and gather project progress from Project Managers and Superintendents/contractors weekly.
• Review project schedule and update with Management weekly; accurately interpret data and communicate clearly and concisely.
• Build detailed project schedules quickly and accurately immediately upon project award/turnover.
• Effective, clear & timely communication of data and trends to Project/Operations Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of seven (7) years scheduling experience building and maintaining project schedules using Primavera 6.
• Experience on medium to large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects & turnarounds.
• Requires an excellent general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating, and Change Control
• Has clearly demonstrated strong technical competence
• Ability to operate independently and effectively report in written and verbal formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Leads project meetings and makes presentations
• Ability to build consensus, manage details, and anticipate issues.
• Manage multiple projects of schedule enforcement and development.
• Flexibility to accommodate shifting priorities due to demands and timeline changes.
• Maintain a professional attitude and be able to work independently or work as a team member when needed
• Demonstrated experience and working understanding of project CP planning and scheduling, cost control and cost estimating.
• Ability to interpret and perform analysis of cost and schedule reports and data
• Experience in preparation of cost estimates
• Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
• Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills
