Position open to staff & / or contractors Position Summary : The Quality Lead will r eport to the CAM Site Manager and functionally report to the CAM Senior Director, Quality .
The Quality Lead shall have the responsibility for the quality program on site and has the organizational freedom and authority necessary to ensure program performance.
The Quality Lead shall be capable of understanding and interpretation of CAM QC manual, Client Specifications and ASME & National Board Codes in relation to QC functions.
The Quality Lead will be responsible for managing nonconformances & corrective actions, for tracking and reporting Quality KPIs on-site and reporting to the Corporate QC team. Attributes : The ideal candidate shall :
Have s trong technical aptitude especially with welding and inspectionHave proficient c omputer skills in MS Office including Word and ExcelBe c omfortable working independently or on a team in a fast-paced industrial environmentH ave e ffective and amicable communicating skillsBe highly organized with attention to detailBe c omfortable coaching CAM superiors and craft employees on the quality requirements Responsibilities :Ensure work is carried out as per CAM QC manual, projects specs and applicable codesManage QC activities including any QC resources based on workload in multiple work areasRecruit and mentor potential QC Inspectors if requiredReview the scope of work to develop and implement inspection test plans (ITPs)Review the scope for welding requirements to determine welding procedure requirementsIdentify welder qualification requirements and testing of welders as requiredEnsure QC personnel understand their roles and responsibilities, including CAM QC Manual and site-specific requirementsPerform field inspections including NDE as requiredPlan and coordinate with NDE and PWHT sub-contractors and review their reportsLiaison with the Client QA and the Authorized Inspector (AI)Identify, generate, track and close out NCRsManage project QC files including turnover packages to the client and archiving of records.Deliver any QC related training to QC personnel, supervision and craft personnelAttend site-specific meetings as required and conduct meetings with the CAM QC team.General support for all QC functions as required. Customer Satisfaction :The Quality Lead will create and maintain a working relationship with client business and execution teams by sharing ideas and expertise during task execution and must also contribute by identifying and managing areas for improvement.The Quality Lead must promote a culture of continuous improvement by actively pursuing opportunities to mentor, be flexible and able to adjust in plans / schedules that will result in increased quality or productivity and to create cost-saving opportunities for their client.Develop and maintain an excellent and effective relationship with the client.Act promptly to address and fix client concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate feedback to the client. Qualifications :Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry.Minimum of 2 years of field QA / QC experience required.Previous QA / QC Lead experience is an assetAWS CWI or ASNT Level II Visual Inspection (VT)ASNT Level II Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is an assetWorking knowledge in all construction disciplines; Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, and Welding required.
