CAM Innovation is seeking a motivated and experienced PLC Programmer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating new programs for our machines. Also opportunities to select components, and layout the controls cabinet to design the complete system. Responsibilities
Primary:
- Support clients and our service team with troubleshooting advice through phone and email.
- Perform Controller Programming using Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text where applicable. CAM standard controllers are manufactured by Mitsubishi, but other manufacturer products may be used if specified by the end-customer.
- Assist with installation of the controls on the machine and start-up of the machine in our factory
- Seek new technology to be applied to CAM’s products. Select and size the electrical components.
- Provide support to the manufacturing department during the building and installation process, ensuring machines are built according to design specifications.
- Use Solidworks to make layout drawings and electrical schematics
- Finalize Bill of Materials, and component selection for purchasing and manufacturing departments.
- Design control system for our machines from specifications provided by clients and our machine designers.
- Demonstrated success in programming PLC's, HMI's and machine components.
- Very helpful to have a working knowledge of electrical controls and control circuits, including component wiring and the ability to size and select components. NEC guidelines are the standard; however, CSA, CE or other guidelines may be required where applicable (Note: CAM supplies machinery globally).
- Ability to collaborate with other team members to carry out the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.
- Willingness to travel to visit clients to review applications and support installations .
- Five (5) years of experience in programming PLC's
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other design software.
- Degree is helpful, but not required.
- Experience managing design projects (2-3 years preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
