Instrument Engineer

Position Summary
CAM is actively seeking a experienced Instrument Engineer for the Houston, TX office.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems for various projects within these sectors. As an I&C Engineer, you will play a key role in system design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- · Develop and maintain the Instrument Index, C&Es, Control Narrative, I/O Lists
- · Specification of Flow, Level, Pressure and Temperature instrumentation.
- · Instrument selection and sizing calculations for CVs, PSVs, ROs, and TWs
- · Support the development of Network Architecture, Instrument Location Plans, and Wiring Diagrams.
- · Coordinate with the project team for the development of P&IDs and Alarm Setpoints.
- · Develop RFQ packages and provide Bid Tabulations for the procurement process.
- · Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to RFIs and addressing any issues that arise.
- · Reviews and approves vendor documents.
- · Participate in occasional factory inspection assignments and field walk downs.
- · May also function as the Lead Instrument Engineer, responsible for all discipline technical and scheduling matters pertaining to the assigned project.
Training and Specialty Skills:
- · Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- · Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities with a proactive attitude.
- · Strong understanding of instrument engineering principles, practices, and international standards (e.g. ANSI, API, IEC, ISA and NFPA).
- · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and end-users.
