General Summary
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for overseeing the handling, storage, and distribution of materials and inventory for projects at the Ascend Automation and Controls shop in Katy. This role involves processing, organizing, and maintaining inventory, as well as receiving materials from vendors and registering them in the corporate system Deltek. Additionally, the Warehouse Assistant will package, scan, and prepare orders for delivery, fulfill material requests from operations, and maintain accurate records of all movements within the warehouse.

- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to accurately inspect incoming materials against purchase orders, assemble material kits, and prepare shipments with precision.

Education, Experience & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Should demonstrate being responsible, accountable, methodic, and tidy.
- Should be used to work self-paced and based on weekly and quarterly plans.
- Forklift operation Certification desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in heavy loads handling.

- Track consumable inventory
- Request consumable inventory order
- Load and unload materials
- Receiving of materials (Check material against PO)
- Verify material in warehouse according to project
- Notify purchasing lead of non-conformance material.
- Assemble Material kits as requested by manufacturing
- Transfer kits to shop
- Transfer material from Inventory to assembly/shipping
- Shipping preparation
- Pictures before shipping
- Bill of Lading
- Complete customer hard copy data books
- Contact vendor about non-conformance material
- Contact dumpster/recycling company
- Handle material recs from shop and provide to Purchasing
- Receive and process incoming stock and materials
- Pick and file orders from stock
- Package and ship orders
- Manage, organize and retrieve stock in the warehouse
- Manage material in the yard
- Keep the areas of the materials clean and well organized.
- Keep the warehouses closed to keep the materials safe.
- Keep track of loose materials and wires that are cut by the foot.
- Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to load and unload materials
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Follow all safety protocol and warehouse procedures
